This is a tour to observe Japanese mitten crabs and soft-shelled turtles, held from spring to autumn. It is a tour to catch them with nets and traps. The experience involves catching them with traps set up the night before and mainly catching them with stones. The tour lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and is a morning tour only available from spring to autumn. What you need to prepare: Marine shoes (from the end of March to October), change of clothes, swimsuit, spats, rash guard, drinks, rucksack, bucket for taking them home + bubbler (battery-powered oxygen supply machine), and a large bucket for turtles. This is a 6km walking tour that starts from the north exit of Shimoakatsuka Station on the Tobu Tojo Line and ends at Nishi-Takashimadaira Station on the Toei Mita Line. We will visit Akatsuka Botanical Garden, Tokyo Great Buddha, Akatsuka Fudo Falls, Itabashi Art Museum, Akatsuka Castle Ruins Park, and Itabashi Local Museum. At the botanical garden, you can see beautiful seasonal flowers such as camellias, plums, cherry blossoms, roses, sunflowers, tulips, and cosmos, as well as Japanese gardens, bamboo groves, and recreated forests. The Tokyo Great Buddha is a very large Buddha statue, measuring 13 meters from its pedestal and its head measuring 3 meters. Akatsuka Fudo Falls (a small spring water about 1 meter high) is a place where Shugendo perform purification before training. Itabashi Art Museum (admission fee of about 700 yen is not included in the tour cost), which has themed exhibitions depending on the season, Akatsuka Castle ruins, life from primitive times to the present, and farmhouses built over 100 years ago. We will also take a walk and tour the Itabashi Local Museum where the exhibits are on display. The route from Shimoakatsuka Station to the botanical garden passes through narrow alleys and stairs.
