Average Google review score of <★★★★★! Come to Kanazawa! Enjoy it all, rain or shine! Even in Kanazawa, a city where kimonos look great, it's a waste to just go sightseeing in a kimono! Take this rare opportunity to experience Kanazawa's traditional culture and experience something you can only experience once. Kanazawa often rains, so you might be worried about whether you'll be able to stroll around in a kimono. With the Kimono Scrap Art Making Experience, you'll have no need to worry about that at all! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<What is Kimono Scrap Art Making?> Carefully unravel each piece of kimono that's no longer wearable due to burnt holes or stubborn stains, and use small pieces of kimono scraps to attach to stencils to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Choose from a variety of stencils, including those featuring Kanazawa Station's Tsuzumimon Gate, Kenrokuen's Kotoji Lantern, and Kanazawa Castle! Don't worry, there are also easy designs for children, like dinosaurs and flowers. No special skills are required, so anyone can easily get started. Even with the same stencil, the finished piece can be as unique as the kimono scraps used! You can frame your finished piece right away and take it home. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<Plan Details> ① Check in. Our shop has a very homey atmosphere, and our friendly staff (so friendly, they always become good friends with our customers...lol) will guide you. ② Create a one-of-a-kind piece of kimono scrap art. Create your own special piece! There are no easy answers when it comes to art! Some people create bold pieces, while others are more delicate! The best part is thinking about color placement and cutting the pieces into your desired shape, so you can enjoy a friendly chat with our staff! ③ Decide on the frame color. ④ Choose the frame color and place your piece. You can frame your finished piece right away and take it home. We hope you'll hang it in your entryway or on a wall as a wonderful memento of your Kanazawa trip. If your plans change due to a sudden rain shower, why not enjoy a fun cultural experience? All of our staff look forward to seeing you! *If you would like to make a reservation on the day, please contact us by phone.

About 20 minutes by car from Kanazawa Station. Head east on Route 159 from Naruwa towards Higashichoe IC. Head further east on Route 210, turn right at Makimachi, go through the Tsurube Tunnel and head to Tsurube Satoyama. Experience the local treasure "Rice Field Dyeing" that has been passed down in the Tsurube village where the legend of Kagekiyo remains. Dye your own original pattern using the tie-dye technique. The history of this rice field dyeing is recorded as "Kaga Black Dyeing" during the feudal period. Harvest the Akamekashiwa and Yamaurushi plants that grow wild in Tsurube, and soak the cloth in the boiled dye liquid for several tens of minutes. After that, put it in the rice field and knead it well... You can enjoy the feeling of dipping your hands and feet in spring water and rice field. Using the tie-dye technique, fold the cloth and tie it with string to imagine your own pattern, and look forward to the finished product. A beautiful gray dye is completed. Then, go out and explore the surrounding area and enjoy your discoveries. For lunch, make rice balls using the rice cooked in the pot and enjoy them while looking at the nature! A light meal is included. The work you make will be completed on the same day and you can take it home.
