Using traditional tools, you will make seasonal Kyoto sweets. You will enjoy one of the finished sweets with the matcha tea that you prepared yourself. Sagano Bamboo Forest PathSagano Bamboo Forest is located in Arashiyama. The bamboo forest path is about 500 meters long. Pass Nonomiya Shrine and head towards Okawachi Sanso to reach the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Walking through the bamboo forest, you can hear the natural sound of the wind blowing through the bamboo leaves. This sound has also been selected as one of the "100 Sounds of Japan that Should Be Preserved". This is also where Ang Lee shot Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Tenryu-ji Temple on the trail offers a spectacular view of a Japanese garden. The Arashiyama Lantern Festival, held every December, illuminates the bamboo forest and Togetsukyo Bridge with dazzling lights, creating a wintery sight. "Nama Yatsuhashi" is a Kyoto confectionery that represents Kyoto. Try making three types of nama Yatsuhashi: bean paste, matcha, and roasted chestnut, starting from making the dough. This is a kimono rental shop that offers a special kimono experience in Arashiyama. There are discounts for couples, students, and families, and you can also upgrade to a high-quality formal kimono. It is located on the 3rd floor of Kyoto Arashiyama Station, so you can take the elevator straight after getting off the train. You won't get lost even if it's crowded, and there's no need to move around with your luggage. On the rooftop of Arashiyama Station, you can take photos in a kimono with the spectacular view of Arashiyama that you can only see here. It's not crowded, so it's a great spot for Instagram.
