Enjoy making a cup with a constellation appearing on its surface. It is a modern adaptation of the traditional technique known as Hotarute, and when a light is placed inside, the light shines through and appears. Once the shape is created by hand-forming (making the board), the constellation is inserted and the piece is complete. Our staff will provide you with careful support. There is a coordinate template for the 12 constellations, so it is easy to determine the hole positions. Our staff will assist you with the other constellations. ■ Course Outline 1. "Ise Katagami" is used for dyeing kimonos. It is a traditional craft technique that has been passed down in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture for over a thousand years. ``Ise Katagami'' is made by a craftsman called a katagami, who uses a chisel to carve intricate patterns and designs onto durable Japanese paper. It is surprising that more than 900 patterns are carved into a single inch (approximately 3cm) corner using a very fine piece of material. This time, we will be dyeing postcards using a pattern carved by Chiaki Imazaka, a traditional craftsman. Why not dye it in your favorite color, create an original postcard, and send it to your loved ones with a message? We also have 6 different designs of this year's zodiac signs, ``Dragon'' and ``Seahorse.'' We recommend sending it to a loved one or to yourself as a memento of your trip to Tokyo.

Japanese scent Yusura Would you like to experience creating Japanese scents at Atelier Kobo? Recommended for those who like authenticity. In this plan, we create scents using only high-quality sandalwood from India and over a dozen natural incense ingredients. You will end up with one scented bag and two items in a washi paper bag. You can enjoy a gentle and gentle scent that is completely different from commercially available synthetic fragrances. In ancient times, scented bags were also called clothing incense, and were used for their ability to transfer fragrance to clothing and to repel insects. In modern times, it has various uses. Neriko is a black pill-shaped incense that was widely used during the Heian period. In The Tale of Genji, there is a scene in which Hikaru Genji, Murasaki no Ue, and other characters are actually created and evaluated, and it is still known as one of the Six Kinds of Kaorumono. It is also used in front of the charcoal in winter during tea ceremonies. Nerika is not something to be used at room temperature, but rather to be warmed to enjoy its aroma. We placed lit charcoal in an incense burner filled with ashes, placed incense sticks on top of the warmed ashes, and enjoyed the scent that wafted through the air. Enjoy the relaxing time and space as the charcoal warms the ashes, along with the scent. It is also recommended before welcoming guests. We have boxes and bags for you to take home, as well as charcoal and incense burner ash for you to use at home.

Create your own original incense paste using only natural incense ingredients such as powdered sandalwood, dragon brain, and clove! Zuko is a powdered incense that monks apply on their palms as a purifying scent in Buddhism. Among the Japanese scents that are used by transferring the scent to something, it is the only one that can be applied directly to the body. In ancient times, people used to collect the first morning dew that had accumulated on lotus leaves, mix sandalwood with the water, and apply it to their bodies. Unlike liquid scents, it is a powder type, so it has low volatility and does not easily diffuse into the surrounding area, making it a convenient scent that can be used without being noticed by those around you. Recommended for relaxing between work. Also, since you only need to use a small amount and don't apply too much, this item is perfect for those who can't get a strong scent in a place where there are people, but still want to add something. *Some sects, such as Zen Buddhism, do not use incense.

We start by splitting real bamboo and making a platform for nagashi somen! We harvest the vegetables to be cooked in the pesticide-free vegetable field and cook them together. The menu is vegetarian (vegan). Enjoy freshly picked seasonal vegetables. Nagashi somen is an experience where you neatly assemble split bamboo and eat the noodles that flow under water. Experience the beauty and history of traditional Japanese paper that is over a thousand years old! A workshop where you can experience Japanese paper making. Starting with an explanation of washi making, you can experience how traditional washi is made from wood. In the workshop, we will make postcards with two different designs, Falling Water Paper, and A5 size paper. While the washi is drying, we will offer Japanese sweets along with a unique "washi tea". The mascot cat “Kami” will always welcome you at the shop! ~Procedure of the experience~ ① Briefly explain the flow of the workshop (5 minutes) We will briefly explain the raw materials for washi paper. ②Experience the process of making washi paper, including ``peeling'' the outer layer of the mulberry tree and ``beating'' the wood fibers.
