There was a time when fabric and garment were very precious and hard to get. People who lived in north part of Japan needed to repair or mend for their garment and make protect from cold season. They stitched several layers of cloth carefully stitch by stitch. Sashiko is a technique that was born from this and nowadays become one of traditional handicraft which was born from taking good care of things and the wisdom of life. At that time, there were no schools, and Sashiko was passed down from parent to child. Therefore, there is not just one technique, but multiple techniques. The repair method is the same. Here we would like to introduce some of the sashiko mending and darning techniques. Please use it for various purposes such as repairing precious clothes, making use of leftover cloth, and making art. You can take the coaster away. Please enjoy the stitching!!

Come to Kanazawa! Whether it's sunny or rainy, wear a kimono and have fun! Even in Kanazawa, a city that looks good in kimonos, it would be a waste to just wear a kimono and go sightseeing! Since it's a rare opportunity, why not try to experience a little bit of Kanazawa's traditional culture and have an experience that can only be had at that time. "Even if you forget your lunch, don't forget your umbrella!" Kanazawa has a lot of rain, so you're worried about whether you can take a leisurely stroll in a kimono... If you try making kimono scrap art, you don't have to worry about that at all! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<What is kimono scrap art making?>This is an experience where you carefully unravel kimonos that can no longer be worn due to holes caused by burning or stains that won't come off, and use small pieces of kimono scraps to paste them onto stencils to create a one-of-a-kind art piece. We have a variety of stencils unique to Kanazawa, such as the Tsuzumimon Gate at Kanazawa Station, the Kotoji lantern at Kenrokuen, and Kanazawa Castle, so please choose your favorite one! There are also easy stencils such as dinosaurs and flowers for children. Anyone can easily get started. It's interesting that even with the same pattern, the kimono scraps used can make a variety of different works! You can take the finished work home with you in a frame on the spot! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<Plan Contents> ① First, you will dress in a kimono. Choose your favorite kimono from the variety of kimonos available. Leave the dressing to us! (Hair set is an additional ¥2,200) ② After dressing, you will create a one-of-a-kind kimono scrap art. Choose your favorite pattern, cut the scraps with scissors and paste them with glue. There is no answer to art! Some people create bold works, others delicate ones! You can experience the experience while chatting with friendly staff in a homely atmosphere, giving advice on recommended color combinations! Since it is an experience while wearing a kimono, it may be a little difficult to work, but let's have fun! ③ Decide the frame color ④ Choose the frame color and put the work in You can frame the finished work on the spot and take it home. We would be happy if you could hang it in your entrance or on the wall as one of the wonderful memories of your trip to Kanazawa. After the experience, you can head off to Kanazawa for sightseeing! Enjoy Kanazawa to the fullest! (You can also go sightseeing in Kanazawa before the experience.) Plans change due to sudden rain... In that case, please come to our shop, where you can get a combination of dressing and cultural experience. *Available for groups of 2 or more. *If you would like to make a reservation on the day, please contact us by phone.

Why not try a unique experience where you can enjoy Japanese culture in the heart of Osaka? In this experience, you will complete your own "little Japanese footwear art" by threading a Japanese-patterned crepe string onto a mini ceramic geta that has already been fired. The ceramic has a beautiful glossy texture and is small but has a strong presence. By combining it with soft and gorgeous Japanese crepe, you can create an elegant and cute work that is typical of Japan. Mini geta will also improve your luck when displayed in your home. Displaying them at the entrance will bring "prosperity in business" and "a house where people gather". Displaying them in the bathroom will bring "you can walk healthily forever". In addition, a pair of left and right geta will be a lucky charm for marital harmony, etc. ☆ Please choose your favorite from several types of ceramic colors and crepe patterns. The atmosphere of the finished product will change dramatically depending on the color combination and pattern you choose. One of the fun things is being able to freely choose according to your own sense of taste. Since no advanced skills are required, anyone from small children to the elderly can participate. You can take home the finished work on the same day, so it is perfect as a souvenir to keep as a tangible memory of your trip to Japan! It has the warmth of handmade items, and you can decorate your home or give it as a gift to a loved one.
