Smelt fishing is very simple. The fishing rod is smaller and easier to handle than a regular one. It's perfect for those who have been interested in fishing but have never had the chance to try it! ●Tempura tasting included (you can eat it on the spot) You can make tempura out of the smelt you catch and eat it on the spot! We provide a complete set of fishing rods and bait, so you can enjoy unlimited fishing. Please come empty-handed. It is easily accessible, just a 5-minute walk from the station. The smelt you catch will be deliciously cooked as tempura! Freshly made tempura is exceptional!

This course runs through the Kushiro Wetlands, and starts from Hosooka Station on a wide, calm river, all the way to Iwahoki Sluice Gate, where you can feel the wind blowing through the wetlands as you leisurely descend. Basically, you won't get wet, so it's okay if you come in clothes that are suitable for the climate and easy to move in. *This is a short course.

The cleanest part of the river, 113 km in length, is the headwater course that descends from Lake Kussharo. If you take a break between the flowing mirrors of the spring or go through the trees, you will be considerably healed. ※ This is a standard course.
