Beatufiul Ritsurin Garden

Ritsurin Garden is the largest garden among the Japanese gardens designated as national cultural properties. It has been awarded the highest grade of three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan and praised as “a place worth traveling to.” About half of the gardens listed as national special scenic spots, the garden equivalent of national treasures, are in Kyoto and most of them are Zakan style gardens which prioritize a view from one particular point.

lived in London for 9 years when she was a child. She served as a coordinator for international relations at Kagawa University while teaching English at a culture center in Takamatsu City. Drawing on her experience in helping her hairdresser husband, she started a kimono rental service at Ritsurin Garden in the hope that many people including international visitors enjoy a stroll around the garden in beautiful kimono. “Ritsurin Garden is a national treasure of a Japanese-style garden.
