At the “Yusan Box Painting Experience Ebuchi Kagamidai Store”, you can experience painting and woodworking.

What is Yuyama Box?

It is a three-tiered hand-held lunch box (about height 12 cm x width 8 cm x depth 10 cm). In Tokushima, it was customary for children to go to Noyama with a Yuyama box during festivals such as the Doll's Festival. It was used from the Edo period to the middle of the Showa period, but gradually replaced it with ordinary bento boxes. However, recently there has been a movement to preserve traditional culture, and it is drawing attention again!

Painting experience

Choose a box to paint from four types of boxes shaped like a circle, gourd, cherry blossom, and three windows, and choose the main color from red, blue, black, and so on. After that, I will model and paint my favorite design. Of course you are free to draw anything! There is also a paper pattern, so even those who are not confident in the picture are okay! You can make wonderful works that are perfect for small items and sweets cases ♪
