Mount Rakanji is one of the 100 famous mountains in Yamanashi Prefecture, and is located on the right bank of Shosenkyo Gorge, boasting the most beautiful valley in Japan, with an altitude of 1,058 meters. It is a collective name for three peaks including Mount Yasaburo. The well-maintained mountain trail is easy to climb even for beginners, and from the summit you can see a spectacular view of Mount Fuji, the Southern Alps, Mount Kayagatake, and Mount Okuchichibu.
