This fishing course is for beginners (those with no fishing experience) and takes place in the tranquil Shimoda Port. (Female staff will be on board to assist you with your fishing experience.) Departure times: March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM; November, December, January, February, and Monday: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Enjoy fishing in Shimoda, a region rich in nature. Fishing will be conducted in the safety of Shimoda Port, making it easy and convenient for everyone. Shimoda Port is surrounded by mountains, making it extremely calm and quiet. A variety of fish are found in Shimoda Port year-round. From beautifully colored fish to fish with funny faces, poisonous fish, and super smelly fish... it's a game played against nature. What will you catch? Will you catch a lot? Will you catch anything? Not knowing is the best part of fishing. While you're relaxing and fishing, enjoy the unusual scenery, seagulls floating on the water, sightseeing boats and fishing boats passing by, Japan Coast Guard patrol boats, and islands visible offshore... Why not let the sea breeze blow through you and refresh your mind? Even if it's your first time, it's okay! Whether you've always wanted to try fishing but don't know what to do, have fished in a fishing pond or on a pier, or have always been interested but haven't taken the plunge, you can't touch live bait...or even fish... For your first fishing or boat fishing experience, leave it to us at Izu Shimoda Marine Center! You'll fish aboard a boat within Shimoda Port, but if you get seasick, you can easily return to land. And, as always, restrooms are a major concern, our boats have private toilets, making them perfect for families, groups, friends, children, and women!
