They then contributed to the development of Japan's silk industry. Five three-story silkworm houses with distinctive Jyoshu Shimamura-style tiled roofs are still in existence on the vast site, where visitors can feel the samurai spirit. Nighttime, which is not usually open to the public, is illuminated at night for a limited period of time.
