Please join us for an activity of kayaking around the lake, which has high water quality and is nurtured by beautiful nature. A kayak is a small boat for one or two people that moves forward with a paddle with blades on both ends. It is a water activity that you can enjoy freely controlling because you sit inside the boat and the center of gravity is low and close to the water surface. Since it is an experience in an artificial dam lake, there is little risk of being swept away, and since motorized boats, fishing, and swimming are prohibited at Surikamigawa Dam, you can enjoy kayaking touring with peace of mind. Of course, the guide will teach you how to ride and paddle, and will accompany you during the tour, so even first-timers and children can participate with peace of mind. Instructors (guides) will provide friendly and careful support, so even beginners can participate with ease and fun. In addition, the venue, Surikamigawa Dam, is equipped with a slope leading down to the lake surface and a floating pier for launching and landing kayaks, so you can enjoy the tour without worrying about getting muddy and sandy feet before and after the start. Kayaks move like "water lilies" on the vast lake surface of Surikamigawa Dam, close to the water surface, and the feeling of floating will soothe your mind and body. Shiki No Sato aims to be a place of relaxation where visitors can see, touch, be soothed, and relax freely. Entering through the entrance gate in the center of Shiki No Sato, you will see the Crafts Museum directly ahead. When you enter the building through the glass doors, there is a free rest area directly ahead, which you can use freely and without hesitation as a place to take a break or chat. ~Kokeshi Doll Painting~ Using a hand-cranked potter's wheel and five colored paintbrushes, you can paint a traditional Tsuchiyu kokeshi doll. As it uses dissolved food coloring, it is safe to get paint on your skin. You can write your name on the bottom of the kokeshi doll you made!

For those who already know how to fold kimonos and nagajuban, we offer a lesson on how to tie the ribbon of a half-width obi. Of course, even those who cannot fold can take this lesson♪ Once you learn how to tie a half-width obi, you can of course tie it to a yukata, but it's also fun because you can tie it to a kimono and go out casually. The instructor will dress you in the kimono, so this is a lesson only on how to tie the half-width obi. Casual kimono includes komon, tsumugi, cotton, etc. *This does not include homongi, tomesode, furisode, etc. You can go out to lunch or a cafe in your kimono!
