Shinano Discovery's snowshoeing tour. Enjoy a snowshoeing experience through the beautiful snow-covered forests of the Togakushi Shrine Okusha and the Kurohime Plateau. In the silence, you'll hear the sound of your footsteps and breathing, and the footprints of rabbits and foxes. In winter, when everything is covered in snow, you can roam freely through the forest, even exploring the giant trees that are only accessible during this season. A mountain guide certified by the Japan Mountain Guides Association will guide you safely and enjoyably through the winter forest. English guides are also available! Schedule: 8:30 AM Meet at Kurohime Station. Travel by guide shuttle to the tour starting point. 9:30 AM Start of the tour: Start walking near Togakushi Botanical Garden. First, learn how to put on snowshoes and how to use the poles. 11:00 AM Take a short break at Kagami Pond. Kagami Pond, known for its breathtaking views, transforms into a vast snowy field during the winter. Walk on the frozen pond and enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Togakushi mountain range unfolding before your eyes. (Depending on the condition of the pond) 12:15 Togakushi Soba Lunch: Lunch will be at a soba restaurant near the approach to the Okusha Shrine. 13:30 Stroll through the forest of giant trees at Togakushi Okusha Shrine. The walk through the beautiful snow-covered forest of giant trees and the Zuishinmon Gate are fantastical and refreshing to the soul. 15:30 Tour ends. The guide will return to the meeting point in a shuttle car and disband.
ハイキングというにはハードなアクティビティで、運動不足のミドフォーには少しきつかったです。しかし辿り着いて見た景色は格別で、疲れも忘れるほどでした。良い運動になりました。一緒になったグループは外国人の方で英語オンリーだったのですが、ガイドの西田さんが英語と日本語で代わる代わる解説を話してくださり、そちらもなかなかできない楽しい体験でした。
