This limited-time plan is for guests with early reservations. Bookings made 28 days in advance offer a special discount. Otherwise, it's the same as our regular plan. Enjoy smelt fishing in the ponds and riverbeds of the Ishikari River system, approximately 50 minutes from Sapporo city center. In this COVID-19 era, we must avoid crowded fishing in tents measuring roughly 3.3 m². We must adhere to the new Hokkaido guidelines and the Go To Travel campaign while also providing a relaxing winter experience. Therefore, we've decided to offer a private plan where guests set up tents on the ice, drill holes in the ice, fish, and enjoy tastings. This private plan, limited to a limited number of groups, offers a truly authentic Hokkaido experience. You'll cast your fishing line through a hole drilled in the thickly frozen river surface to target smelt swarming beneath the ice. The smelt you catch can be enjoyed as tempura or fried chicken. We use a private, farm-built greenhouse, ensuring thorough protection against the cold. A free shuttle service is available from Sapporo city center on tour days for convenient round-trip transportation. If you're lucky, you might even spot a red fox, a white-tailed eagle, or a whooper swan! Why not spend a day enjoying the special natural scenery? While this plan is generally a full-day experience, including a day off, you can also choose to enjoy sledding at a nearby ski resort, try snowshoeing in a vacant lot, or stop by a delicious local farm restaurant, Jingisukan (mongrel mutton barbecue), or ramen shop for a "nearly full-day exclusive plan" tailored for our guests.
