This is a full-scale electric potter's wheel experience plan that will help you realize your "I've always wanted to try this!". You can casually enjoy the comfort of touching the clay on the spinning potter's wheel and the fun of shaping with your own hands. With this plan, you can create up to two pieces per person. You can freely create teacups, small bowls, large plates, mugs, etc. according to your purpose and preferences. The rhythmic shaping process unique to the electric potter's wheel feels like you are talking to the clay. Enjoy your time immersed in the moist feel of the clay. You can choose from more than 10 types of glaze (color) within the experience fee. The instructor will carefully scrape, glaze, and fire the completed work, and it will be finished in about two months. After firing, you can pick it up at the classroom or have it delivered to your home for an additional shipping fee. In addition, if you want to make a larger work or try multiple works, you can purchase additional clay on the day (from 1,100 yen per 1 kg). The instructor will carefully support you from the very beginning in how to use the potter's wheel and how to shape the potter's wheel, so even beginners can feel at ease. My friend and I decided to try out this pottery experience on a whim over the long weekend holiday. I had some experience using the pottery wheel years ago and my friend was a complete beginner. The studio was neat and well equipped with many tools and supplies. The instructor, Nakano-san, was kind, friendly, and patient with us. After our bowls were finished she gave us some extra clay to use for a handbuilding project. After 2.5 hours we had 2 finished works, complete with our glaze selection and clean-up. I will definitely come back again and look forward to reconnecting with this hobby!
