2-theater common ticket [Korakukan + Kosaka Mine Office] This is a great value ticket that includes a play and backstage tour at Korakukan, a national important cultural property, and a tour of the Kosaka Mine Office and two facilities. The Meiji era playhouse Korakukan is still active for over 115 years and is still performing live (popular theater and other) performances. 2025 performances: April 23rd to July 27th "Shitamachi Kabuki Gumi" Leader Mimine Toru → Starring Shingetsu Kaito → Starring Hitomi Hiroshi (Starring Subaru Toma) will take turns performing for about one month each. August 1st to September 15th "Kanzaki Jun & 10carats" Fabulous Revue Boys. Actress Murai Mayumi and former OSK Nippon Revue Company member Subaru Mirai will appear. September 21st to October 28th "Gekidan Yumeiro" led by troupe leader Kenji Kano, former OSA Nippon Opera Company member Shiho Wakaki, special appearance by Mariko Endo. It is interesting that the performers change every year as this theater troupe was formed just for the Korakukan performance. The performances are enjoyable for all ages, so many customers come, including elementary school to high school students on school trips. Please enjoy watching a performance at Korakukan, a theater that is still in operation after a century. Kosaka Town in Akita Prefecture is a town that prospered because of the Kosaka Mine. In 1910, the Meiji era theater "Korakukan" was built as a welfare facility for the employees of the Kosaka Mine. The exterior of the building is Western-style, while the inside is purely Japanese. The most distinctive feature of this theater is its blend of Japanese and Western styles, which is rare for a theater. Staff dressed in black costumes will guide you through the Korakukan facility.
