Kumejima Firefly Museum, we will move by car and walk in the darkness like an underground expedition. We will show you the traces of old people's customs and the wonders of creatures that are connected to the global environment. Time required will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
もしも久米島の観光をされる方はここを強くお勧めします。 ただ見るだけなら無料だけですが、ぜひガイド付きのツアーを申し込んで下さい。 鍾乳洞の成り立ちはもちろんですが、久米島の人の歴史、文化の説明が印象強く残っています。 死者を弔う際、風葬と言う埋葬の仕方を今回初めて知りました。最初は驚いたのですが、お話を聞くととても意味のある文化だと思いました。今とは違い時間をかけて亡くなった方を弔う豊かな見送り方だと思います。 鍾乳洞自体もこんなに間近で見たのは初めてで、実際に触れました。数十万年の歴史をぜひ肌で感じてください。 ここの洞窟の中に住む生態系も学べますので、お子様から成人の方にもお勧めできます。 生と死の境であるとても希少な場所ですので、いつまでもこのまま残っていることを願います。 最後にガイドの佐藤さん、1人の参加者にも関わらず丁寧に説明してくださりどうもありがとうございました。大変良い経験になりました。

*Due to soaring prices, the tour fee will be increased by 500 yen from November 1, 2023. While enjoying a 25-minute tour of the ocean floor in a glass-bottomed boat, we will guide you to Hatenohama, an island made of only sand and coral fragments, located approximately 3 kilometers southeast of Kumejima. The half-day tour takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the stay at Hatenohama is 1.5 hours from April to October, and 1 hour from November to March. Recommended for those who want to visit other sightseeing spots or those traveling with small children. Snorkel rental is also available as an option! ☆Charm of Hatenohama☆1: The main attraction is the sea! The sea of Kumejima is known for its high transparency, but the sea of Hatenohama is by far the best. The emerald green sea can be seen up to the corals 2 to 3 meters below the sea surface. 2: Endless sandy beach The sight of a sandy beach that stretches out endlessly, illuminated by the sunlight, gives you a feeling of atmosphere that you cannot experience in everyday life. 3: Wide sky with a 360-degree view Since there is nothing around you, you can see the sky that extends 360 degrees. You can feel the majesty of nature just by looking at thunderclouds moving with the wind and contrails flying high in the sky.
