Hinohara Village is the only village on land in Tokyo. Deep inside the village, on a ridge well over 700m above sea level, lies the old house "Kyu Kobayashi Family Residence". Built in the mid-Edo period (more than 320 years ago), this mountain house is literally an "old house in the sky". This tour, which takes you there by mountain monorail that goes straight up a super steep slope of nearly 45 degrees, is an extremely extraordinary experience that will leave a deep impression on your memory, both geographically and historically, as well as physically. This is a 6km walking tour that starts from the north exit of Shimoakatsuka Station on the Tobu Tojo Line and ends at Nishi-Takashimadaira Station on the Toei Mita Line. We will visit Akatsuka Botanical Garden, Tokyo Great Buddha, Akatsuka Fudo Falls, Itabashi Art Museum, Akatsuka Castle Ruins Park, and Itabashi Local Museum. At the botanical garden, you can see beautiful seasonal flowers such as camellias, plums, cherry blossoms, roses, sunflowers, tulips, and cosmos, as well as Japanese gardens, bamboo groves, and recreated forests.
