The mangrove of the Oura River, which pours into Oura Bay, is one of the largest in Okinawa and is said to be in the best preserved condition in Okinawa. It is said that the richness of Oura Bay is due to the nutrients in the Yanbaru Forest slowly permeating the sea through the mud. We will guide you not only about the ecology of plants and small animals with mangroves, but also about the relationship between the Yanbaru forest and the sea ♪ Please enjoy the blissful time surrounded by the greenery of the mangroves and Yanbaru forest. ～ Flow of the day ～ ① We will meet at the parking lot on the promenade side of Wansaka Oura Park. [Highlights of the plan] We start from the beach near Logasis and head for the mysterious mangroves. You can see various kinds of creatures on the beach and mangroves, and if you're lucky, you might encounter sea turtles and sawtooth spiders. Please also pay attention to the "Challenge Tree" recommended by the guide staff! [About the guide staff] On the tour, the main guide will be an islander (Shimanchu) staff who is familiar with Ishigaki Island. We will arrange the tour content according to the weather, sea and river conditions, number of customers, etc., so please feel free to come with children or beginners. This is a half-day tour where you can experience nature and mangroves by kayaking at the mouth of the Urauchi River, the longest river in Okinawa Prefecture. It is a safe field for kayaking beginners, children (from 3 years old), and those with low physical strength, as it is not easily affected by wind or waves. It can also be enjoyed by elderly people (65-75 years old). We will also go to the star sand beach and observe the star sand.
