This two-day tour includes a snowboarding session to enjoy the satoyama terrain at the Sakegawa Eco Park campsite, which is surrounded by snowy satoyama, making a sample shaped snowboard, and a social gathering at a cottage in the eco park. Sakegawa Village is a snowy rural village with about 1.5m of snow even on the flat ground, and broadleaf satoyama spreads around the clear stream "Sakegawa" where salmon swim up. This year, Sakegawa Village's boarding friends who have enjoyed snowboarding and skateboarding in the past gathered together and established a volunteer group called the "Sakegawa Village Boarding Promotion Council" to enjoy the snowy satoyama terrain of Sakegawa Village with snowboards. The council aims to launch an original snowboard brand, and while learning from seniors who are leading the snowboard culture in the boarding industry, they are also holding activities such as snowboarding experience sessions at the village's snow festival. After receiving your Shinkansen ticket and travel guide from the staff at the meeting point in Tokyo Station, you can start your trip freely. The Joetsu Shinkansen is comfortable and punctual, so you will arrive at Snow Country Echigo Yuzawa Station in just over an hour. Jozankei Onsen is called the back parlor of Sapporo. Jozankei is blessed with a rich natural environment and has beautiful scenery. A nature guide will lead you through the winter forest of Jozankei wearing Western snowshoes called snowshoes. The winter forest is full of fun elements such as fluffy powder snow, the sound of animal footsteps, bird watching, and snow slides. With snowshoes, you can walk anywhere you want, even in places where the snow is so deep that you would normally not be able to go into them. No experience or skill required. It can be easily enjoyed by everyone from children to the elderly. During the tour, we pitched a simple tent and took a break along the river. Enjoy the atmosphere of the quiet Jozankei valley!
