By drawing calligraphy or a painting with a brush and ink, you can enjoy a unique Japanese experience. Kakejiku uses techniques with over 1000 years of history to create a work of wabi-sabi that is refined for beauty and preservation. You can choose to make a full-fledged kakejiku or a simple magnetic tapestry, and take home the work you made that day.

Would you like to experience body painting of Japanese kanji and katakana? This is a body painting that draws realistically using a unique technique using an airbrush. An airbrush is a type of spray painting tool used for painting. It is completed in a short time (10 to 15 minutes) and the special paint is safe for the skin, so it is safe for children. First, choose your favorite Japanese and pattern design from the sample collection. After that, professional artists will use their skills to complete the body art, from applying the color to the final finishing. All you have to do is sit back and relax. You can observe how wonderful art is created. Body painting can also be designed with your own name or picture other than the sample collection. Learn how to greet, walk, and behave from the head of the Shinkawa School of Japanese dance. Shinkawa School has a wide variety of dances, from classical Japanese dance to Kabuki dance and Bon Odori. Head of the school, Shinkawa Ogio, will provide careful instruction so that everyone from children and students to the elderly can enjoy the dance. Yukata rentals are available, so please change into one first. We will teach you how to tie an obi and how to wear a beautiful yukata. If you come to the store wearing Japanese clothing, you can participate in the class in your favorite clothes. We also have yukatas for men and children, so families are welcome to participate! We will practice the ancient Japanese popular song "Sakura Sakura" in the Shinkawa style. After practice, all participants will dance through the whole dance at the end. You can actually use a Japanese sword, which is said to be the soul of the samurai, and try cutting it. The experience of touching the soul of the samurai will surely transform you. Tennen Rishin-ryu swordsmanship, which began in the Edo period, is still passed down today, and at the Tennen Rishin-ryu Hino Dojo, students of the school hone their swordsmanship skills. You too can learn Tennen Rishin-ryu at an actual dojo. The swordsmen who trained Tennen Rishin-ryu in Hino formed the Shinsengumi, which was said to be the strongest group of swordsmen at the end of the Edo period, and were called the last samurai. By experiencing swordsmanship in Hino, the hometown of the Shinsengumi, you can feel the history and culture of the last samurai. The experience program is led by Masao Inoue, a descendant of Shinsengumi leader Genzaburo Inoue and chairman of the Tennen Rishin-ryu Hino Dojo.

This is a hands-on class for foreign visitors to Japan to experience the traditional Japanese culture of calligraphy. Located in Jimbocho, the town of second-hand books, this calligraphy class is supported by leading instructors who will help you have a memorable experience of Japanese culture, calligraphy. We will assign kanji to your name and prepare a sample in advance. First, while grinding the ink, the instructor will explain the calligraphy tools, how to sit, how to hold and use the brush, etc. You will be carefully taught how to write the kanji for your name, your favorite characters, or the words you want to write, and at the end, you will finish it into a colored paper or fan to take home as a souvenir. 3 minutes walk from Sensoji Temple! The 4-story experience space is fully equipped with a Japanese-only studio. There are a wide variety of kimonos, and there are about 1,000 kimonos and yukatas to choose from! We also have kimono sets for men and children. The package includes exquisite hairstyles, hair accessories, and free hairstyles that match the style of the guest's hair amount, hair color, and kimono color. You can also bring your camera! Available in four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Vietnamese, you will be dressed in a kimono or yukata, have a demonstration and explanation by a senior Japanese tea ceremony instructor, and enjoy traditional Japanese sweets and handmade matcha tea in a dedicated, authentic tea room. You can enjoy the tea ceremony while having your meal. The experience time is approximately 1 hour. You can continue walking around Sensoji Temple even after the tea ceremony. All you have to do is return the kimono by 5:00pm.
