Kintsugi is a repair technique in which cracks, chips, and other damaged parts of ceramics are glued together with lacquer and decorated with gold and other metal powder. It is also called Kintsukuroi. At our salon, we use simple lacquer instead of real lacquer, and we finish at a reasonable price. It is also used in front of the charcoal in winter during tea ceremonies. Nerika is not something to be used at room temperature, but rather to be warmed to enjoy its aroma.
