The first National Theater closed at the end of October 2023. During the reconstruction of the theater, performances will be held at other theaters in Tokyo. In May 2025, the performance will be held at Theater 1010, which is directly connected to Kita-Senju Station, a terminal where the JR Joban Line, Tokyo Metro lines, Tobu Line, and Tsukuba Express converge, and is very accessible from all over the country. This theater has been well-received for its Bunraku performances, with people saying that the stage is easy to see and the acoustics are good. This plan is recommended for sumo fans and those who are welcoming guests from overseas. Sumo is a popular Japanese martial art with a long tradition dating back to ancient times. On this tour, you can see the serious training of sumo wrestlers in preparation for the main tournament (match), which you cannot usually see, and take photos with the wrestlers. Also, while you can only watch the main tournament (match) from afar, this tour offers the rare experience of watching the powerful wrestlers up close, which is unique to morning training. A guide will escort you from the meeting point, Honjo-Azumabashi Station, to the sumo stables.
