The first National Theater closed at the end of October 2023. During the reconstruction of the theater, performances will be held at other theaters in Tokyo. In May 2025, the performance will be held at Theater 1010, which is directly connected to Kita-Senju Station, a terminal where the JR Joban Line, Tokyo Metro lines, Tobu Line, and Tsukuba Express converge, and is very accessible from all over the country. This theater has been well-received for its Bunraku performances, with people saying that the stage is easy to see and the acoustics are good. The first part will feature "Ashiya Doman Ouchi Kagami," which is related to the birth of Abe no Seimei, an onmyoji (exorcist) who is said to have been the son of a fox. This time, the play will be performed from "Kamo-kan," which is not often performed. "Kuzunoha Ko Wakare," which highlights the love between mother and son between Kuzunoha, who is the incarnation of a fox, and the young Seimei, is a famous scene that has evoked great emotions across the ages.

The second part will feature "Yoshitsune Senbonzakura," famous as one of the three great masterpieces of puppet theater. On his way to Kyushu, Minamoto no Yoshitsune faces off against his old enemy, Taira no Tomomori, at Omonoura in Settsu Province. This epic war story unfolds, depicting Tomomori's valiant fight and his tragic end. The performance will conclude with the splendid "Michiyuki Hatsune Tabi," a glittering performance of cherry blossoms in full bloom.

The simultaneous commentary earphone guide (audio guide) will simultaneously explain the highlights of the stage during the Bunraku performance. Although there is an additional fee, it has been very well received for its ease of understanding, so it is especially recommended for beginners. Available in Japanese and English.
