Come to Kanazawa! Have fun on sunny days and rainy days! Even though Kanazawa is a city that looks good in kimonos, it would be a waste to just wear a kimono and go sightseeing! Since it's a rare opportunity, why not try to experience a little bit of Kanazawa's traditional culture and have an experience that can only be had at that time. Kanazawa rains a lot, so you may be worried about whether you can take a leisurely stroll in a kimono... If you experience making kimono scrap art, you don't have to worry about that at all! ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<What is making kimono scrap art?>This is an experience where you carefully unravel each piece of kimono that you can no longer wear due to holes caused by burning or stains that won't come off, and use small pieces of kimono scraps to paste them onto stencils to create a one-of-a-kind art piece. We have a variety of stencils, such as the Tsuzumimon Gate at Kanazawa Station, the Kotoji lantern at Kenrokuen, and Kanazawa Castle, so please choose the one you like! Don't worry, there are also simple designs such as dinosaurs and flowers for children. No special skills are required, so anyone can easily get started. It's interesting that even if you use the same stencil, you can create a different work depending on the kimono scraps you use! You can take the finished work home in a frame on the spot. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<Plan Contents> ① Reception Our store has a very homely atmosphere and our friendly staff (we're so friendly that we always get along with our customers...lol) will guide you. ② Create a one-of-a-kind kimono scrap art Make your own special work! There is no answer to art! Some people create boldly, others delicately! The best part is thinking about the color arrangement and cutting the kimono into your favorite shape, so you can experience it while chatting with the staff in a friendly atmosphere! ③ Decide the color of the frame ④ Choose the color of the frame and put the work in You can take the finished work home in a frame on the spot. We would be happy if you could hang it in the entrance or on the wall as one of the wonderful memories of your trip to Kanazawa. If your plans change due to sudden rain... why not experience culture while playing at such times? All of our staff look forward to meeting you. *If you would like to make a reservation on the day, please contact us by phone.

【Preparation】Calligraphy is an aesthetic expression of Japanese culture. Before experiencing calligraphy, we will ask you to change into Japane【Explanation】First of all, we will explain about the mental attitude and tools. You will better understand the differences between foreign Caligraphy and Japanese "Shodo".The instructor will explain how to hold the brush and how to use the tools. Please choose your favorite Japanese Kanji character to try in this experience. 【Practice】Calligraphy has a sense of quietness and beauty. Essentially, it is important to have basic manners, such as sitting upright, keeping your back straight, and holding your brush upright. There are basic techniques such as "tome," "hane," and "harai," which should be practiced.Learn the stroke order of the chosen kanji.Learn by observing the teacher's demonstration with a model.Practice the kanji you have just selected with an awareness of the technique.【Special】Teachers have applied kanji to the foreign names of our clients and come up with Japanese-style names written in kanji.【Seisho】Participants will be asked to write their chosen kanji characters on a fan and a piece of calligraphy paper, keeping in mind what they have learned so far.
This was a great class. Kaori was a great teacher and we had plenty of time to practice our brush strokes before doing our final product. She also went through some of the history of writing styles. Great experience and would highly recommend this class. Kaori also premade some writings with our names before we got there on a small piece of wood and on paper in 3 different styles.
