The second most popular tour is the upstream tour. You can encounter beautiful aquatic creatures in the spring water upstream. This is a bicycle tour around rice fields, spring water points, and upstream. Please note that this tour is limited to electric three-seater bicycles, so only those who can ride a bicycle can participate. The targets are river crabs, loaches, crayfish, four types of dragonfly nymphs, mitten crabs, chichibu, minnows, moroko, and carp. This tour involves cycling around the spring water repeatedly. After 1.30pm, you can go to the nearby Kuroyu Onsen and Yumori no Sato hot springs (admission fee included). Or you can rent an electric bicycle for free and take a tour around Jindaiji Temple. This event is held throughout the year, and after observing insects in the forest (larvae from autumn to spring), parents and children will explore the creatures in the river. Put on gloves and go through the grass and turn over stones to catch fish and crayfish. Spring water and cold water points do not move, so you can catch them with your bare hands.
