Lake Poroto is a place where people have lived together as part of nature since ancient times. Although it is a small lake with a circumference of about 4 kilometers, it is a very rich lake packed with waterside nature such as forests, marshes, sand, swamps, and rivers. Take a leisurely canoe ride around Lake Poroto while listening to all about its nature, culture, and history! This is the plan. Lake Poroto is rich in nutrients brought from the mountains, and is home to many birds, fish, and animals, or where they visit in search of food. The scenery also changes drastically with each season, with skunk cabbage in spring, water lilies in summer, autumn leaves, and snow-covered snow in winter, so visitors never get bored. For those who want to leave the navigation to the guide and enjoy the lake at their own pace, we have not only Canadian canoes, but also air canoes with double paddles for those who want to paddle themselves! [Chitose River Cruise] It's about a 20-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, and you'll be surprised to see such rich nature in such a place... The Chitose River makes you think so. You'll go down with a guide while watching the fish peeking out of the crystal clear water and the small birds flying through the trees. We'll talk about a lot of things, such as Hokkaido's wildlife and vegetation, Ainu culture, and the history of development, while enjoying the breeze of nature. [Short course only available in winter] Chitose in winter is below freezing even during the day! It's extremely cold, but there are many beauties that can only be seen in such a harsh environment. The course is a canoe tour of about 2.5 kilometers from under the highway overpass that runs through the town of Chitose to the area near the Chitose City Sports Center! The snowy scenery spreads out on the riverbank with a good view, and wild deer gather along the quiet river, and you can see salmon running upstream, which is becoming a symbol of the Chitose River, until around February! The experience lasts 30 to 40 minutes, and it takes about an hour from meeting to disbanding. *The tour may vary depending on the weather and river conditions on the day. *Most tours are conducted below freezing, so please take proper cold weather precautions. *Safety is our number one priority, so the tour may be canceled due to weather or other reasons. Please note this in advance. *The boat will be boarded at a slight incline, so you will need to have a certain level of physical ability that does not interfere with your daily life. *If you would like to participate with 3 or more people, the tour will be by boat. [Standard course] The journey is about 5.5 kilometers from the meeting point, Daiichi Usakumai Bridge, to under the highway overpass. The nature-rich Chitose River is home to wild birds such as kingfishers, crested kingfishers, and the recently popular long-tailed tit. Kingfishers sometimes even guide you... You can experience the thrill of a natural river, going over waves and passing through a tunnel of trees that protrude into the river! Of course, the guide will mainly steer the boat, so first-timers are also welcome!

[Long Course] Canoe touring of about 8 kilometers from the meeting point, First Usakumai Bridge, to the vicinity of Chitose City Sports Center! As of 2024, Lake Shikotsu boasts the second highest transparency in Japan, and the Chitose River that flows from it. Enjoy the pleasure of river rafting, including gentle sections, narrow sections, and small but wavy sections! The guide will be in charge of the main maneuvering such as choosing the course and steering, so even those without experience are welcome!

This program is a program where you can ride a twin canoe with a guide, touch the water leisurely, learn about nature, and enjoy the singing of wild birds. In the cool climate of around 25 degrees Celsius even in summer, the tour mainly uses the tributaries of Onuma, which are relatively unaffected by wind waves. This is a recommended program for those who want to "listen to the chirping of wild birds slowly" and "want to take nice pictures". In addition, it takes only 90 minutes from meeting to dissolution, making it an easy program to incorporate into your itinerary.
