To be honest, it is difficult to find a place to take an activity tour by yourself. Gateway Tours can only accept one person per tour. (This is not a private tour as it is held at the same time as other tours.) It is many times more difficult to operate a Canadian canoe by yourself than it is to operate it with two people. For this reason, you will basically ride in the guide's canoe. The field is near New Chitose Airport and there is a free shuttle, so many people use it at the beginning or end of their trip, or during their free time on a business trip to Hokkaido.
