This is an experiential calligraphy class for foreign tourists visiting Japan, business travelers, or foreigners living in Japan. Write kanji with a brush while calming your mind in a Japanese-style room in a Japanese-style private house. We have prepared approximately 30 kanji characters that are popular among foreigners, such as love, dream, mother, father, friend, and flower. If you have any requests for kanji that you would like to write, please let us know in advance and we will prepare a model for you! We receive many requests to write their name in kanji, so please let us know in advance the name you would like to write (only one person) and we will prepare a sample! You can use the name of a family member (only one name) instead of your own! In this hands-on class, you will polish the ink you use by yourself. You can see for yourself that the color of the ink gradually becomes darker. In addition, the tools used in calligraphy, such as brushes, paper, inkstones, and ink, are explained in an easy-to-understand manner using panels with photos. The lesson begins and ends with a seated prayer. We will also explain the etiquette of the zarei in an easy-to-understand manner! 3 minutes walk from JR Omori Station, Tokyo①A calligraphy experience class will be held in the grounds of Omori Sanno Hie Shrine. In an ancient Japanese-style room, you can write kanji and kana using real brushes, Japanese paper, ink, and inkstones. All tools will be provided here, so please come empty-handed. You can take home the work you have written (if you wish, we will provide a frame and a seal). The instructor is a Bunka Calligraphy Higher Master and also teaches at several calligraphy classes in Tokyo. ②On the second floor of the same building, we hold lessons for the Iwama-ryu Aikido class, and if the time is right, you can also observe and experience it. Have you ever seen a huge calligraphy performance? Opportunities to experience calligraphy performance are limited, and it is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. Calligraphy performance is more than just writing, it is an art that reflects your heart. You can also relieve your daily fatigue and stress and have a dynamic and powerful experience. In this calligraphy performance experience, you will be able to write on one full sheet of paper (69cm x 136cm) and two pieces of paper cut in half (34.5cm x 136cm). You can take home your finished work. At the end of the experience, please add your name to the giant calligraphy work that I created, measuring approximately 2.5m x 5m. Experience location: The event will be held at a former Japanese confectionery store in Sadogashima, Niigata Prefecture. You can reach us by car or bus, and the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away. There is also free parking, which can be reached in just 30 seconds on foot. Language: You can choose from Japanese or English.
