The "Hitome Senbonzakura" cherry blossoms bloom along the banks of the Shiroishi River, which runs through the center of Ogawara Town and Shibata Town in Shibata County, Miyagi Prefecture, for 8km. The approximately 1,200 cherry tree saplings donated by Kaijiro Takayama in 1923 and 1927 still fascinate us after about 100 years. During the flowering season, the snow-capped Zao mountain range and the rows of cherry trees in full bloom are reflected in the Shiroishi River, creating an exquisite harmony, making this a place that is one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. While admiring the Hitome Senbonzakura, we will hold a kimono dressing experience and a town walking event. *Optional: A professional photographer can take photos and provide the data. Matsugaoka is a historic place where samurai from the Shonai Domain cultivated land and planted mulberry trees and established the silk industry about 150 years ago during the Meiji Restoration. Five tastefully decorated silkworm houses are illuminated for the first time! This "place associated with samurai silk" is recognized as a Japan Heritage site in 2017. The winery "Pino Collina Matsukaoka" will open in 2020 in Matsukaoka. Fresh Japanese wine made from 100% grapes grown in Matsugaoka has won numerous awards including IWC, and has been selected for the G7 Hiroshima Summit. A special performance by Nakamura Hashigo, a kabuki actor from Tsuruoka, will be held in the illuminated 5th silkworm room of the Matsukeoka Kaikonjo(Matsugaoka Reclamation Site). <About Korakukan> Korakukan was built in 1910 as a welfare facility for employees of Kosaka Mine in Akita Prefecture. It is characterized by its blend of Japanese and Western styles, which was rare at the time. What is noteworthy is that it is still an active playhouse. From late April to early November, popular plays and revue shows are performed once to three times a day. During the winter months, when there are no performances, the museum is open as a tour facility.

Snow is fun! Experience making a mini snow igloo with Yokote's high-quality snow! Anyone can participate, including families with children and those who want to experience snow. Snow igloos are a seasonal feature of winter in Akita Prefecture. In Yokote, the "Yokote Snow Festival" is held every year on February 15th and 16th as a New Year's event to worship the water god, with a history of about 450 years. It is famous for the construction of about 80 snow igloos, each about 3 meters tall, throughout the city. In addition, about 2,000 "mini snow igloos" are made by local people and children every year at the venues of Yokote Minami Elementary School and Hebi no Sakigawahara, and candles are lit inside at night. Let's make an original mini snow igloo, one of a kind in the world, using the snow of Yokote, the home of snow igloos and a heavy snowfall area. After making the mini snow igloo, take a break with a hot drink. Candles will be lit in the mini snow igloo you made in the evening. Participants will also receive candles and Yokote sweets as gifts!
