In an authentic Japanese-style room, filled with the scent of tatami mats, an experienced tea ceremony instructor will demonstrate the ancient art of "Otemae." Guests will enjoy the experience of actually holding a tea whisk and preparing matcha with their own hands. Scooping the matcha with a tea scoop, pouring hot water, and carefully whisking it with the whisk—these actions embody the spirit of "wabi-sabi," a concept also found in Zen. After the tea ceremony, enjoy your own prepared matcha with seasonal Japanese sweets. The moment when the refined sweetness and the bitterness of the matcha blend in harmony is a blissful moment in which you can experience the spirit of "omotenashi," a Japanese spirit that Japan is proud of. You will also enjoy the unique taste of matcha, a Japanese green tea, and learn the correct way to drink it according to the Japanese tea ceremony tradition. Visit Kimono Rental Shop Yui, a 4-minute walk from Asakusa Station and a 2-minute walk from Kaminarimon. Choose from a wide range of kimonos and summer yukatas suitable for various occasions. Once you're dressed, our staff will provide you with a hairstyle and colorful accessories that suit you. For the rest of the day, feel free to wander the beautiful streets of the Asakusa district at your own pace until 5:30 PM, when you will return your kimono. If you choose the photo shoot option, a professional photographer will accompany you and show you the most photogenic spots around Sensoji Temple and the Sumida River. The session will last 60 minutes, and your photos will be sent to you for editing and download within a week.
