This is a one-day backcountry snowshoe camping tour in the mountains of the Hidaka Mountains Erimo Tokachi National Park. This mountain range, located in Hokkaido at an elevation of nearly 1,200 meters, experiences daytime temperatures of around -15°C and strong winds during the harsh winter months. However, in March and April, the weather stabilizes and temperatures rise, allowing for a relatively mild trek. On a clear day in Tokachi, you can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges, including the Daisetsu Mountains and the Hidaka Mountains, as well as Mount Yubari, and the winter Tokachi Plain stretching out below!
