Circumference 50 kilometers. Maximum depth: 180.0 meters. Average depth is 117.0 meters. Water storage capacity: 8.19 cubic kilometers. The lake surface is 84 meters above sea level. It is the northernmost ice-free lake in Japan. ▼Toya Lake Cero Observatory is a great place to take panoramic photos of Lake Toya. From here you can enjoy natural views around Lake Toya, including the islands of Lake Toya, Mt. Yotei, Mt. Showa Shinzan, and Mt. Usu. Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch: On December 28, 1943, a large earthquake occurred near Mt. Usu on the shores of Lake Toya. As a result, the volcano erupted and the earth rapidly rose to form a tall mountain. Volcanic activity continued until September 10, 1945, and there were 17 relatively active volcanic events in two years. In commemoration of this volcanic activity, a new volcano with an elevation of 398 meters was designated a Special Natural Monument in 1957 and named "Showa Shinzan". It is a "new mountain" that is still growing, and white smoke can be seen constantly spewing from the reddish-brown mountains. ▼ At the bear ranch near the entrance to the Showa Shinzan cable car, about 100 purebred Hokkaido brown bears are kept. Brown bears are the largest wild mammals in Hokkaido. You can feed the brown bears at the bear ranch. When they see food, they stand up and wave at the tourists. They are very cute and adorable. It is said that the horse oil here is very useful. Adults (junior high school students and above) 900 yen, children (6 years old and above) 500 yen, please pay the fee yourself. This is a mixed tour and participants come from all over the world.

Even if you are a first-time canoeist, you can go canoeing down the Mimi River. It is a wonderful field that is hard to find even in Japan. The guide will ride in a separate canoe from the customer, and you will be the only one to steer the canoe and leisurely go down through the wetlands where there are many waterfowl. During the tour, you can learn about the history of the Mimi River and the Ainu, and other stories unique to this area, while canoeing and learning from the guide. The field is near New Chitose Airport, and the Mimi River can be seen from the sky when planes take off and land. This is a recommended tour that is perfect for a honeymoon or family trip that you can remember every time you visit Hokkaido in the future. "The tour was fun, but we don't have any photos!!" "We came together, but we don't have any photos of the two of us!!" During the tour, we will give away photos taken with a single-lens reflex camera to anyone who wants them. [Tour Recommendations 1.2.3] ① The river flows slowly, and even at its deepest, it is only about waist-deep for adults, so it is a very shallow river, so you can rest assured. You will not be sharing the canoe. ② There are surprisingly few travel photos! ! Gateway Tours will give you digital photos of your tour! You cannot take photos of yourself in a canoe from inside the canoe. Photos taken in a canoe are memories that will last a lifetime. This service is only available at Gateway Tours! It's worth participating just for the photos. ③You can rest assured that your guide is an outdoor master guide certified by the Hokkaido Prefectural Governor, and also has other guide qualifications, rescue qualifications, and first aid qualifications. *If you are participating with your family or alone, please apply from another plan. https://activityjapan.com/search/?addressAndKeyword=Gateway+Tours
息子と2人で楽しい時間を過ごしました。途中珍しい向かい風に遭遇し、途中そのまま下るか元の工程を登るかの判断が必要でしたが無事完遂。ガイドさんにとってもお世話になりました。ありがとうございました。

To be honest, it is difficult to find a place to take an activity tour by yourself. Gateway Tours can only accept one person per tour. (This is not a private tour as it is held at the same time as other tours.) It is many times more difficult to operate a Canadian canoe by yourself than it is to operate it with two people. For this reason, you will basically ride in the guide's canoe. The benefits are that you can leisurely go down the river, take photos and videos with your own camera, ask the guide various questions, and listen carefully to the stories of the field. Also, depending on the conditions on the day (mainly the wind direction), you can try a single-seater canoe in a separate boat from the guide. During the tour, you can learn about the history of the Mimi River and the Ainu, and stories unique to this area from the guide, and of course you can canoe while learning. The field is near New Chitose Airport and there is a free shuttle, so many people use it at the beginning or end of their trip, or during their free time on a business trip to Hokkaido. During the tour, we will give you free photos taken with a single-lens reflex camera to those who wish. [Recommended] ① You can participate by one person! ! ②Surprisingly few travel photos!! Gateway Tours will give you digital photos of your tour taken with a single-lens reflex camera!! Canoeing photos are lifelong memories. This service is only available at Gateway Tours! It's worth participating just for the photos. ③You can rest assured that your guide is a Hokkaido Governor-certified outdoor master guide, and also has other guide qualifications, rescue qualifications, and first aid qualifications.

This is a plan limited to Douminwari (Hokkaido residents discount). In this day and age, everything is increasing in price. Hotel rates and activity tours are also increasing in price. It has become difficult for Hokkaido residents to travel to Hokkaido. We hope that customers in Hokkaido will learn about the good things about Hokkaido, so we will offer a price that is easy to participate in (up to 33% discount). (Example) For two adults, the usual price of 15,000 yen is 11,000 yen, a 4,000 yen discount. For two adults and two elementary school students, the usual price of 22,000 yen is 17,000 yen, a 5,000 yen discount. *Please show your identification on the day of the event, or live in Hokkaido. If you live outside of Hokkaido but attend a school or company in Hokkaido, we will apply if you have proof of identity. Even if you are a customer who is canoeing for the first time, you can go down the river right away on the Mimi River. It is a wonderful field that is hard to find even in Japan. The guide will ride in a separate canoe from the guests, and the guests will be the only ones who will be steering the canoe, leisurely descending through the wetlands where there are many waterfowl. During the tour, the guide will tell you about the history of the Mimi River and the Ainu, as well as stories unique to this area, and you will be able to experience canoeing while learning as well as canoeing. "The tour was fun, but I don't have any photos!!" "I came all the way here, but I don't have any photos!!" During the tour, we will give away photos taken with a single-lens reflex camera to those who request them for free. [Recommended] ① The river flows slowly, and even at its deepest, it is only about waist-deep for adults, so it is a very shallow river, so it is safe for children. ② There are surprisingly few travel photos!! We also have staff who hold childcare qualifications. *You can rent one or two canoes and everyone can ride together without worrying about other customers. *Families with large numbers of people or especially large parents or children may be asked to board two boats.
