家族4人ともロードバイク未経験のため不安が大きく、中学1年生の子供のみクロスバイクに変更してもらいました。（クロスバイクは1台だけあるとのことでした）。ただ、スタート地点でしっかりと乗り方などを教えていただき、慣れるまで（15分程度）練習させてもらえたので安心してスタートすることができました。普段ママチャリが普通に乗れれば、ロードバイクはすぐに慣れると思いましたし、クロスバイクにした子供もロードバイクでもよかったかな、と思いました。 コースの大部分が車がほとんど通らない道だったことや、スピードや休憩など初心者に合わせていただき、大変ありがたかったです。とても充実した一日となりました。 唯一のマイナス点は、スタート地点まで札幌市内（琴似）から車で片道１時間半かかった点ですが、それでも車内でも色々な話をしていただけたので、苦痛ではありませんでした。
