You can get a glimpse of everyday life in Okinawa, with children playing on the spacious lawn. ③ Mekaru You can see a large group of grave sites dating back to the Okinawa Gusuku period, the Ryukyu Kingdom period, and the Meiji period. The largest tortoiseshell tortoise tomb, which was introduced from China, is a sight to behold with its unique design. ④ Urasoe City Nakama This is a defense facility built by the Japanese military during World War II. You can discover its historical value and magnificent scenery. ⑤Kyozuka, Urasoe City This was a post road from Shuri Castle during the Ryukyu Kingdom era, and was the main road at the time that continued all the way to northern Okinawa Prefecture. After his death, fans began to visit his study. You can see many exhibits and materials here. ③Mt. Tsuka, Haebaru Town A monument honoring a great man who was passionate about humanity's dream of "flying in the sky" and continued to chase dreams and romance. It is located on a hill overlooking the town and offers a spectacular view. ④ Teruya, Haebaru Town A stone lion standing to ward off evil spirits. There are many theories, including that it was built to protect the precious spring water. The way he looks straight ahead is brave. ⑤ Haebaru Town Motobu A town where Ryukyu kasuri is produced. Inside the museum, clothing, ties, bags, and pouches made using Ryukyu Kasuri, all handmade by craftsmen, are on display and for sale. ⑥ Head to a small elevated forest called Kyan-Koganemori. At that time, during the Battle of Okinawa, the Okinawa Army Hospital Bunker Group was built here. Students also come to study peace. From the top of the small hill, you can see the cityscape of Naha and Haebaru spreading out below. An area where many vegetables such as pumpkin fields are grown.
