Have you ever seen a huge calligraphy performance? Opportunities to experience calligraphy performance are limited, and it is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. Calligraphy performance is more than just writing, it is an art that reflects your heart. You can also relieve your daily fatigue and stress and have a dynamic and powerful experience. In this calligraphy performance experience, you will be able to write on one full sheet of paper (69cm x 136cm) and two pieces of paper cut in half (34.5cm x 136cm). You can take home your finished work. At the end of the experience, please add your name to the giant calligraphy work that I created, measuring approximately 2.5m x 5m. Experience location: The event will be held at a former Japanese confectionery store in Sadogashima, Niigata Prefecture. You can reach us by car or bus, and the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away. There is also free parking, which can be reached in just 30 seconds on foot. Language: You can choose from Japanese or English. Following the Noh performance and symposium, the opening will feature a special guest appearance by the parent-and-child duo Reishu Fukushima + Satoshi Fukushima, who blend shakuhachi with electronic music, inspired by their encounters on Sado Island. You will witness a breathtaking revival of Noh theater by local masters who carry on this centuries-old tradition and then join a hands-on workshop where you can learn the graceful movements and artistry of Noh directly from the performers themselves. Sado Island is home to one-third of Japan's surviving Noh stages, but only here, at the Nagae Atsukushihiko Shrine Noh Stage, can you take part in such a rare and unforgettable encounter with living cultural heritage. This is a course where you can fully explore the pitch black tunnels while feeling like a prospector! This is an academically valuable tour around the tunnels of the Taiseiyama Mine, which was excavated in the early Edo period and is also valuable from an academic perspective. As you proceed through the tunnels from nearly 400 years ago relying on a helmet, flashlight, and boots, you will find yourself feeling like a prospector and enjoying the feeling of exploring!
