Sakaneya is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop in Izumo, which was founded in the 5th year of Meiji. Such a long-established Japanese confectionery store opened Kissa&co Sakaneya in April 2017. At Kissako Sakaneya, we are holding a Japanese sweets making experience for groups of 3 or more people. While the craftsman will tell you about Japanese sweets and anko, you will make 2 each of 2 types of seasonal namagashi (4 in total). After the experience, you can relax slowly as it is at the cafe. Choose from matcha, coffee, black tea, matcha latte, orange juice, or yuzu squash.

A rickshaw tour around the town in front of the gate of Izumo Taisha. A quiet time to face yourself. How about the experience of copying sutras (shabutsu)? I will explain first. A quiet time to face yourself. How about a hands-on training of zazen? A monk will carefully guide you. [Journey] Sutra chanting ~ First, chant the Heart Sutra and Shiko vows. Zazen ~ 3 times of 15 to 30 minutes each time. There are short breaks in between. Procession ~ Walk in the precincts (inside the hall on rainy days) on the way. Dharma talk ~ There is a mini Dharma talk. It's now "Dharma". Tea Ceremony - Enjoy tea and sweets. It is a tea party such as self-introduction.

A quiet time to face yourself. How about a zazen experience? A monk will carefully guide you. Sit quietly at a Zen temple in the mountains overlooking Lake Shinji. No noise. Sit comfortably in nature. Wind, clouds, trees, birds chirping, sutras, bells ringing. Shapes of nature in each season. Even at the same time, you can refresh your mind and body in the same scenery and a world where there is no sound! You will have about 1 hour of hands-on experience. Chairs will be provided for those who have difficulty sitting. It comes with entertainment of tea sweets.
