You can feel the Ezo deer and owls huddled in large trees watching you from afar. This is the quietest place to view the lake surface. There is no need to worry if you fall off ♪ There is a backrest so anyone can walk on the water. Once you gain confidence in a canoe with a backrest, you can transform into a SUP! This is a trout fishing experience tour run by BLUE BACK, a lure fly pro shop. We will guide you to fishing points in and around Lake Shikotsu depending on the time of year. From March to June, the water is extremely clear and the contrast of Mt. Fubukushi and Mt. Tarumae is beautiful. Summer Water temperature: July 10-15°C, August-September 15-20°C From July to September, the endangered species of underwater flower, Chitose Baikamo, blooms, and the peak season for Lake Shikotsu begins. The aquatic plants sway beautifully, creating a fantastic space. Underwater, you can see the blue-hued three-spined sticklebacks and Ezo dace. Autumn Water temperature: October 15-18°C, November 10-15°C From October to November, the kokanee salmon, dyed in their nuptial colors, return to the shore to spawn. The leaves also begin to change from green to red and yellow, and even the fallen leaves add a splash of color to the water. Midwinter Water temperature: December 7-10°C January-February 0-4°C December-February Plankton in the water also decreases, transparency increases, and the water becomes even more tranquil. Visibility increases to the point where you can see 30 meters ahead. The sunlight shining in warmly illuminates the water, which is at 2°C. The Hyoto Ice Museum Festival, one of Hokkaido's three major winter festivals, is held from late January to mid-February. As the lake water is highly transparent, the ice sculptures shine blue like Lake Shikotsu during the day, and at night, the lake is lit up and fireworks are set off, making it a sight to behold.
