Why don't you experience Japanese traditional culture "calligraphy"? A 3-minute walk from Shimbashi Station and within walking distance from Ginza! The tools are prepared here, so you can come empty-handed. You can experience it even by yourself. Learn about kanji, the history of calligraphy, and tools, and try writing your favorite characters with a brush and ink. You can make a clean copy on colored paper and put it in a decorative box to take home. As an option, you can also make a clean copy on the fan. (Extra charge)

For calligraphy (making works with a brush), you choose your favorite characters, words, and typeface from several models such as kanji, kana, and waka. After practicing calligraphy styles and points, make a clean copy. Decorate with calligraphy glitter (*) as you like. *While drying the product developed exclusively for our atelier to decorate calligraphy, let's do the seal engraving (making a seal to engrave names and words). Our atelier is characterized by engraving on special soft rubber that can be handled easily and safely. For those who want to make a seal (stamped on the bottom left of the work), the instructor will propose a design based on your name in kanji or kana. Those who want to make a sign (stuffed on the top right of the work) will choose from several auspicious words. Draw calligraphy or a painting and have it turned into a traditional Japanese "kakejiku" (hanging scroll). By finishing it as a kakejiku, your work will be beautifully preserved for over 100 years and will become a lifelong memory to decorate your home. By turning your handmade work into a kakejiku, you can experience Japanese culture in depth. Our company was founded in 1936 and has been providing traditional crafts for over 80 years. By drawing calligraphy or a painting with a brush and ink, you can enjoy a unique Japanese experience. Kakejiku uses techniques with over 1000 years of history to create a work of wabi-sabi that is refined for beauty and preservation. You can choose to make a full-fledged kakejiku or a simple magnetic tapestry, and take home the work you made that day.
