A tour where you can enjoy the best starry sky in Japan and be surrounded by firefly lights 360 degrees around! A beautiful world of light created by the Yaeyama Hime fireflies and a starry sky spreading across the night sky! Come and see the seasonal natural illumination show! The main thing you can observe is the Yaeyama Hime firefly. The way they blink is different from the fireflies seen in Honshu. Fireflies actually light up to mate. When they fly off all at once as if they had arranged it, they are surrounded by fireflies and are enveloped in their lights. The viewing spot is in the mountains, a 20-minute drive from the city. Everything is well equipped. Boots, jacket, pants and anti-mosquito spray are provided. Our tour guide Yoshi is knowledgeable, he introduces us different types of fireflies, birds, insects and the nature. We are lucky to see fireflies, also for the first time in my life, which is gorgeous. Towards the end of tour Yoshi drives us to the beach to watch beautiful sky with a lot of stars at night. The tour is a good deal and strongly recommended.

Why not enjoy the night sky of Ishigaki, Japan's first certified starry sky sanctuary? We wanted you to take home memories not only with your eyes, but with your words, too, so last year we received the "Beautiful Star Meister" certification from Ishigaki City. You'll also get to see crabs and fish in the ocean puddles at night! It's an absolute hit with kids! (Note: Seeing them at high tide may be impossible.)
