Let's have a walk through one of the oldest villages on Iriomote island, Sonai village, and its historical places including a traditional Okinawan house and a shrine. , I will introduce you to the history and religion of Iriomote island.I will share many stories about local people's way of living and worship.Iriomote is not only beautiful nature.A secret tradition is still alive that most tourists are not aware of.First Next, visit a traditional wooden house, and learn about its construction and the rituals held inside. We will see a very old well, a previous village location, hear its story, and learn about religious festivals. On the way, I will teach you about edible plants. We start at 7am. The water between Iriomote Island and Yubu Island is shallow enough to walk across. Usually, we cross this section by buffalo cart, but this time we will walk across. After arriving on the island, we will have breakfast at Manta Beach while watching the sunrise and Kohama Island. After that, if we have time, we will have free time to explore the island, which is completely to our own liking. We will also have the opportunity to interact with "Rui-kun", the only model buffalo on the island, and take a commemorative photo. On the way back, we will ride a buffalo back to Iriomote Island.
