The "Hitome Senbonzakura" cherry blossoms bloom along the banks of the Shiroishi River, which runs through the center of Ogawara Town and Shibata Town in Shibata County, Miyagi Prefecture, for 8km. The approximately 1,200 cherry tree saplings donated by Kaijiro Takayama in 1923 and 1927 still fascinate us after about 100 years. During the flowering season, the snow-capped Zao mountain range and the rows of cherry trees in full bloom are reflected in the Shiroishi River, creating an exquisite harmony, making this a place that is one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. While admiring the Hitome Senbonzakura, we will hold a kimono dressing experience and a town walking event. *Optional: A professional photographer can take photos and provide the data. (Advance reservation required) Forecasted flowering date: April 4th; Half-bloom: April 6th; Full bloom: April 10th; Cherry blossom snowstorm: April 15th.
