Sakegawa Village is a snowy rural village with about 1.5m of snow even on the flat ground, and broadleaf satoyama spreads around the clear stream "Sakegawa" where salmon swim up. This year, Sakegawa Village's boarding friends who have enjoyed snowboarding and skateboarding in the past gathered together and established a volunteer group called the "Sakegawa Village Boarding Promotion Council" to enjoy the snowy satoyama terrain of Sakegawa Village with snowboards. The council aims to launch an original snowboard brand, and while learning from seniors who are leading the snowboard culture in the boarding industry, they are also holding activities such as snowboarding experience sessions at the village's snow festival.
