This is a tea mat weaving experience at the Genta Dyeing and Weaving Studio. Just choose your favorite color of thread and weave! From small children to the elderly, even first-time weavers are welcome♪ Foreigners can also enjoy weaving with hand gestures and go home. We have received comments that it is "pretty good" as a mouse pad. Since it is an indoor activity, you don't have to worry about the weather. You can experience it in the quaint workshop inside the castle of Aya International Craft. I use various parts of the plant to get the color on the cloth. Put the dyeing plant in a pot and heat it to make a dyeing solution. Dye the cloth by immersing it in the liquid. Please note that the cloth used for dyeing is silk, cotton, linen and wool products and will not dye cloth made of chemical fibers.

This vegetable dyeing is also used in some of the dyeing techniques of Oshima Tsumugi. At Amami-no-Sato, you can actually dye handkerchiefs and other cloth products with plant dyes to create original scarves in deep colors. After the experience, you can take a walk in the elegant Japanese garden that shows the expressions of the four seasons and the Amami-style garden that reproduces the virgin forest of Amami.

It is a mud dyeing experience of Kumamoto and Yamaga. It is located at the entrance of Yachiyoza, a nationally designated important cultural property, and in the center of the tourist attraction Toyomae Kaido. Even small children can enjoy dyeing with peace of mind because the cloth is simply soaked in muddy water made from the natural soil of Yamaga without using fire.
