This was a really fun experience. You can make either a mug, bowl or tea cup out of clay. You knead the clay with your hands rather than shape it on a potter’s wheel. The teacher was very patient and encouraging despite our clumsy efforts. You can personalise the object by adding your name and other designs like flower imprints or stripes. You can also choose the colour of the glaze. Firing the object will take a few days, but they can post the finished product to you even if you live outside Japan. I highly recommend this activity.

友人と初めて体験。基本的にはとても楽しく、手作りの楽しさを感じられるものでした。ただ、私が作ったデザインが崩れたまま仕上げに移ってしまった点が残念でした。直前に確認しなかった落ち度はありましたが、出来上がりに大きな違いが出てしまったのはショックです。スタッフの方から「完成後も修正可能」と説明を受けましたが、渡されたのは到底修正に使えない道具(仕上げに用いるヤスリ)で、結果的に本来のデザインのように仕上げることはできませんでした。「修正できない」と言われた方が、気持ちの整理がついたかも知れません。全体的には良い経験でしたが、この点は少し不満が残りました。

生後8ヶ月の赤ちゃんと夫で参加しました。ベビーカーでの入店可能、授乳室あり、手作りのオムツ替え台ありです。店主の先生は物腰柔らかく、3人のお子様を育てた大先輩なので、絵付けに集中したい時は赤ちゃんをあやしてくれて、助かりました！赤ちゃんの手形のお皿やスプーンに絵付けなど、様々な体験ができて本当に楽しかったです！
