On February 10th, the Aoki Lake Fisheries Association conducted an investigation and concluded that the fishing season will not be lifted this year. This year, there has been a lot of snowfall, and water has come out between the snow and ice. The temperature is expected to rise in the next few days, so the ice will melt due to the water, and the ice strength will not be maintained. You can look forward to boat fishing for smelts at Lake Nakatsuna in the green season. The green season Aoki Lake/Lake Nakatsuna smelt boat fishing, tempura, and day camp includes a tempura set rental, so it is a recommended plan for those who want to enjoy smelt fishing and tempura casually! The opening of the winter fishing season for smelt holes at Lake Nakatsuna depends on the weather and smelt resources. It was not lifted in 2025, 2024, or 2023. It was lifted in 2022, but not in 2021. This area is a cold region with a lot of snowfall. When there is a lot of snowfall, the snow acts as a cold protection and true ice does not form. Snow and ice form, but they cannot support the weight of a person. The hours for hole fishing at Lake Nakatsuna are 7:00-16:00 (2026 dates are yet to be determined). Just a short walk from our Dancing Snow office, you'll find stunning nature. Climb, descend, snowshoes and enjoy access to pristine forests. Dancing Snow's regular backcountry guided tour is a one-day course of Mt. Aim for a peak accessible from the Myoko ski resort. ★What is a fat bike? It is a mountain bike that evolved for the purpose of riding on snow. On this tour, you will be cycling along snow-white ski slopes. There is no such thing as ``slipping or brake failure'' that everyone tends to worry about! The reason for this is that the tire width is about 12cm, which means it has a large footprint on the snow, and it is equipped with a disc brake, which is the same system as a car. Our fat bikes are stocked with popular models from top bicycle manufacturers, and are maintained in good condition by our guides who are qualified bicycle safety mechanics. We have 20 inches for children who are over 130cm tall, 24 inches for juniors, and 26 inches for adults. You can also invite your family and friends to participate. In the snowy room called "Hon-yara-do," there is a charcoal kotatsu that does not use electricity! You can eat rice cakes and sweets while sitting in the kotatsu. At night, candles are lit in the Hon-yara-do. *Fireworks and hotpots are available as options. *You can grill the "anbo" from the anbo experience on a charcoal grill and eat it. Staff will be able to speak simple English and use a translator. If you are unsure, we can also provide an interpreter (for a fee).
