Enjoy smelt fishing on ice at Mt. Akagi Onuma! Enjoy the ice on the lake called Onuma in the summit area of Mt. Akagi in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, 2 hours from Tokyo. There is also an area within walking distance where you can play in the snow, Akagi Shrine, which is said to grant women's wishes, and Torii Pass, where you can enjoy a spectacular view without having to climb the mountain.
