[Summary] Snowshoe experience at Nikko Yumoto Onsen. For those who want to challenge a course with some ups and downs. We aim for Lake Tadenoumi, which can only be visited in winter. *The course may change depending on the weather and snowfall. Along the way, nature guides will show you how to enjoy winter activities such as sledding and observing animal footprints. Why not play in the powder snow of Oku-Nikko? [Distance] Approximately 4 to 5 km (Nikko Yumoto Onsen Snowshoe Course, Lake Tadeno Course, or Kinsei no Mori Course) [Schedule] 09:00 Meet in front of Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center ・Reception ・Snowshoe rental (free), explanation of how to use 09:15 Departure ・Activity location: Nikko Yumoto Onsen Park and snowshoe course *For safety, we will select a course taking into consideration the snowfall conditions. 13:00 Arrive in front of Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center/Disband *Arrival time is an estimate. It may vary depending on the progress. [About snowshoes] Snowshoes are a type of equipment that you attach to your shoes and use to walk on snow, similar to snowshoes. There are no special shoes for snowshoes, but we can accommodate a wide range of cold-resistant, waterproof, hard-topped shoes (such as snow boots). We also rent snow boots, but we may not be able to accommodate your request due to size and number restrictions. If you would like to rent boots, please let us know in the answer to the questions when making your reservation. [About the event period] If it is difficult to hold the event due to snow conditions, we may contact you after you have made your reservation to cancel.

Nikko Yumoto Onsen is about 3 to 4 hours one way from Tokyo by public transportation. You can enjoy snow easily.

Snow boots or winter hiking boots.) The temperature in Oku-Nikko is about 10℃ lower than the plains. Also, when the wind blows, the perceived temperature drops rapidly. Please take sufficient measures against the cold. [Things to bring] Snacks, water Plastic bottles, rice balls, and other items with a lot of water are not recommended as they may freeze.

If you arrive by car

From Tohoku Expressway Utsunomiya IC, take Nikko Utsunomiya Road (car-only road) and get off at Kiyotaki IC. It takes about 40 minutes to reach Yumoto on National Route 120.

If you arrive by train

Take the bus bound for Yumoto Onsen from JR Nikko Station or Tobu Line Tobu Nikko Station. Get off at “Kohan-mae” or “Yumoto Onsen” bus stop
