[Summary] Experience snowshoeing at Nikko Yumoto Onsen. The course is flat, so it can be enjoyed by three generations of the family. A nature guide will show you how to enjoy winter activities such as sledding and observing animal footprints. Why not play in the powder snow of Oku-Nikko? [Distance] Approximately 3km (walking around the parks in the Oku-Nikko Yumoto Onsen area) [Schedule] 10:00 Meet in front of Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center ・Reception ・Snowshoe rental (free), explanation of how to use 10:15 Departure ・Activity location: Nikko Yumoto Onsen Park and snowshoe course *To ensure safety, we will select a course taking into account snowfall conditions. 12:00 Arrival/disbandment in front of Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center [About snowshoes] Snowshoes are a tool like "kanjiki" that you wear on your shoes to walk on snow. Please note that there are no dedicated shoes for snowshoes, and we can accommodate a wide range of shoes with a hard instep (snow boots, etc.) that are cold-resistant and waterproof. We also rent snow boots, but please note that we may not be able to accommodate your request due to size and number restrictions. If you would like to rent boots, please let us know in the answer to the questions when making your reservation. [Regarding the event period] If it is difficult to hold the event due to snow conditions, we may contact you after your reservation to cancel.

Playing with the snow in Nikko

Nikko Yumoto Onsen is about 3 to 4 hours one way from Tokyo by public transportation. You can enjoy snow easily.

A nature guide will guide you.

In addition to recreational activities that allow you to enjoy the snow, we will also provide fun information about animal footprints.

Snow boots or winter hiking boots.) The temperature in Oku-Nikko is about 10°C lower than on the plains. Also, when the wind blows, the perceived temperature drops rapidly. Please take sufficient measures against the cold. If you arrive by car

From Tohoku Expressway Utsunomiya IC, take Nikko Utsunomiya Road (car-only road) and get off at Kiyotaki IC. It takes about 40 minutes to reach Yumoto on National Route 120.

If you arrive by train

Take the bus bound for Yumoto Onsen from JR Nikko Station or Tobu Line Tobu Nikko Station. Get off at “Kohan-mae” or “Yumoto Onsen” bus stop
