[Summary] Snowshoe experience at Nikko Yumoto Onsen. The course is flat, so even three generations of the family can enjoy it. Nature guides will show you ways to have fun in winter, such as recreational activities such as sledding and observing animal footprints. Would you like to play in the powder snow of Oku-Nikko? [Distance] Approximately 1-2 km (Walk around the parks, etc. in the Oku-Nikko Yumoto Onsen area) [Schedule] 10:00 Meet in front of Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center ・Reception/Payment ・Snowshoe rental (free), explanation on how to use 10:15 Departure ・Activity location: Nikko Yumoto Onsen Park and snowshoe course *To ensure safety, courses will be selected taking into consideration snowfall conditions, etc. 12:00 Arrive at Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center/Dismiss [About snowshoes] Snowshoes are tools similar to "snowshoes" that are attached to shoes and used to walk on the snow. Please note that there are no special shoes for snowshoeing, but a wide range of cold-proof, waterproof shoes with hard insteps (snow boots, etc.) are available. We also rent snow boots, but we may not be able to meet your request due to size and quantity restrictions. If you would like to rent one, please let us know in the answer column when making a reservation. Nikko Yumoto Onsen is about 3 to 4 hours one way from Tokyo by public transportation. You can enjoy snow easily.

If you arrive by car

From Tohoku Expressway Utsunomiya IC, take Nikko Utsunomiya Road (car-only road) and get off at Kiyotaki IC. It takes about 40 minutes to reach Yumoto on National Route 120.

If you arrive by train

Take the bus bound for Yumoto Onsen from JR Nikko Station or Tobu Line Tobu Nikko Station. Get off at “Kohan-mae” or “Yumoto Onsen” bus stop
