The tour begins at the StarOcean Center House. Your guide will be a stargazing guide with extensive experience in stargazing photography, including local guides. We'll guide you to the best spots of the day, taking into account the weather and wind direction. We'll photograph in scenic locations unique to Ishigaki Island, such as quiet beaches and hills away from the city. Even beginners can feel at ease during the photography portion. We'll provide thorough support, from the ground up, on camera settings and composition, to using a free tripod rental. You can participate with any equipment, including DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and smartphones. You can also take starry sky portraits, capturing yourself silhouetted against a starry backdrop for a perfect memento of your trip. With the option to rent professional-grade equipment, even those without a camera can enjoy a full-fledged photography experience. During the tour, you'll not only see the starry skies, but also the natural beauty of Ishigaki Island. The sandy beach glistens with night dew, the shadows of gently swaying palm trees, and the sound of distant waves and insects. Your guide will move between photo spots, searching for angles with minimal light pollution to capture the perfect shot. The position of the constellations and Milky Way changes with the seasons, so no matter how many times you visit, you'll always find something new to experience. The Yaeyama Islands, including Ishigaki Island, were the first region in Japan to be designated a "Dark Sky Park." This recognition is a testament to the region's globally precious "star-protecting" status. The clear air, minimal light pollution, and stable climate create ideal viewing conditions. A starry sky and a mysterious night adventure! Coconut crab night tour A night tour where you can encounter precious creatures while exploring the great outdoors at night! Before searching for coconut crabs, we will start by searching for creatures in the jungle. In the jungle, you may see nocturnal creatures unique to Yaeyama. You may have a chance to encounter snakes such as the viper, the Yaeyama scorpion, one of only two species of scorpion in Japan, the scorpion-like imitation, the agile Sakishima tree lizard and Sakishima grass lizard, Yaeyama's endemic frogs, and even the Ryukyu wild boar and Yaeyama flying fox! After that, we move to the coast and finally start searching for coconut crabs. We will observe the ecology of the coconut crab, one of the world's largest terrestrial crustaceans, up close. On the beach, you may encounter land hermit crabs, various crabs, and if you're lucky, even sea snakes. The night sky is filled with stars and the Milky Way, allowing you to experience the mysteries of nature in a fantastical atmosphere.
